Infineon and mPTech Strengthen Partnership to Enable Secure Payments on Next-Generation Wearables

Infineon Technologies AG and mPTech are deepening their collaboration to bring secure, convenient payment capabilities to the next generation of wearable devices. The European original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has integrated Infineon's SECORA™ secure payment technology into its latest flagship HAMMER smartwatch, combining Infineon's expertise in secure payment solutions with mPTech's experience in consumer electronics.
The collaboration demonstrates how Infineon's SECORA one-stop solution, including SECORA Connect X and SECORA Wallet, can help wearable device manufacturers simplify and accelerate the integration of secure, CDCVM-enabled payment functions into consumer products.
"With SECORA, Infineon offers an end-to-end solution that enables customers to integrate secure payment applications into consumer devices more efficiently, helping them bring new products to market faster," said Tolgahan Yildiz, Senior Vice President of Infineon's Digital Security and Identity business line. "Wearable manufacturers can use secure payment capabilities to expand their product portfolios and support higher-value transactions. We expect to see more smart wearables equipped with dedicated user interfaces and certified payment functionality as this technology becomes increasingly accessible."
Kamila Yamasaki, CEO of mPTech, said that the company focuses on developing products that address real-world consumer needs and make advanced technology practical in everyday life.
"Our cooperation with Infineon has enabled us to bring secure and convenient NFC payments to the HAMMER WATCH 3, creating tangible value for users," Yamasaki said. "We are pleased to work with a trusted technology partner whose proven solutions and expertise allow us to transform innovation into practical and secure user experiences. We see this collaboration as an important milestone in the continued development of the HAMMER wearable portfolio."
The partnership also benefits from Mastercard's digital payment ecosystem. Brice van de Walle, Executive Vice President of Core Payments for Europe at Mastercard, welcomed Infineon's participation in the **Mastercard MDES Express program**, highlighting the growing demand for secure payment experiences across connected devices.
"Consumers increasingly expect simple and secure ways to pay through the growing range of connected devices," said van de Walle. "MDES Express simplifies access to the Mastercard ecosystem for issuers, wallet providers and device manufacturers, helping them bring new wearable payment experiences to market faster while giving consumers more choice."
SECORA Wallet Simplifies Wearable Payments
Infineon's SECORA Wallet is an end-to-end solution specifically designed for wearable payment applications. It supports both Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) and Visa Token Service (VTS), allowing CDCVM-enabled secure payment wallets to be integrated into fitness and healthcare applications running on smart wearables.
Unlike conventional approaches that may require a dedicated payment application, SECORA Wallet enables users to make secure NFC payments directly through their lifestyle-oriented wearable devices. Both online and offline transactions can be supported at compatible point-of-sale terminals, providing a seamless payment experience without requiring users to download or maintain a separate payment app.
Through its integration with the Mastercard MDES Express program, SECORA Wallet also simplifies the process for issuers already connected to the MDES ecosystem to enable CDCVM-secured NFC payments on OEM-branded devices. This gives financial institutions a more straightforward way to bring premium wearable brands into their payment offerings while helping reduce fraud and chargeback exposure.
Compact NFC Technology for Smart Wearables
Complementing SECORA Wallet, SECORA Connect X is an ultra-low-power payment solution designed for space-constrained wearable products. It incorporates one of the industry's smallest NFC payment chips and is engineered to maintain strong contactless payment performance even when integrated into devices featuring metal enclosures.
By combining compact hardware with secure payment functionality, SECORA Connect X allows manufacturers to integrate NFC payment capabilities without compromising the form factor or design flexibility of their wearable products.
As the first smartwatch from mPTech to incorporate Infineon's secure payment technology, the HAMMER smartwatch demonstrates how advanced payment functionality can be integrated into everyday wearable devices while maintaining a smooth and user-friendly experience.
The collaboration between Infineon and mPTech highlights the growing role of secure digital payment technologies in connected wearables and provides manufacturers with a scalable approach to delivering convenient, certified and secure payment experiences to consumers.
